Where is it?
It's in a small linear village called Beli Osam about 7km from the town of Trojan, known for its monastery, the third largest in the country.
What's nearby?
Near Beli Osam there are natural hot springs and a brand new spa resort has recently opened. The village is on the foothills of the slopes that climb to the Trojan Pass and the slopes of Beklemeto, a tiny little known ski resort which is earmarked for development.
Ski hire is cheap, the slopes are not packed and you'll be lucky to spot a British tourist for miles. Beklemeto, in the Central Balkan National Park is the start of many walking trails and birdwatching tours.
Why you should?
If you're looking for a more authentic experience in a traditional Bulgarian village and a quality house with access to skiing, natural spas, wildlife and the great outdoors then this is it. Great latent rental potential as tourism is undoubtedly discovering this region.
Why you shouldn't?
If you're looking for a busy night life, to mix with other tourists and expect facilities to be conveniently plentiful then this is not really for you.
